How to Update Official Firmware on Galaxy S9 SM-G9600 via OTA (Over the Air):

  1. Turn on WiFi or Mobile Data on your device (should have stable Internet connection)
  2. Go to Settings-About, and tap on the Update Option from there (If its show “The latest update have already been installed” message, then your device haven’t receive any OTA yet, check back later or try installing through Kies.)
  3. Tap OK to start the download and installation process
  4. Once done, your device will reboot automatically

How to Update G9600ZHU4CSD6 Firmware on Galaxy S9 G9600 through Odin:

Below you’ll find step by step manual guide to update the ZHU4CSD6 9 Pie firmware on your Galaxy S9 G9600 through Odin software on your PC or Laptop.

"The firmware is released only for the Samsung Galaxy S9 SM-G9600 model, so don’t try this in any other android device. Check your device model number from Settings-About Phone. Also the tutorial is based on Windows PC. NasirTech is not responsible if anything wrong happens to your device after following this guide, try this at your own risk".

Points to be noted:

1) Check battery percentage, your device should have at least 60% battery power

2) Turn on USB Debugging mode, go to Settings-General-Developer Options (As the Developer options are hidden by default on all Android device running on Android 4.2 or up, So go to Settings-General-About on your Samsung and tap Build Number for 7 times to visible the Developer options.) See the image below.

3) Backup important data and settings to external storage- follow this guide

4) Install USB driver for your device on your PC/Laptop- Download Samsung USB Driver  

5) If your Galaxy S9 G9600 have any Custom ROM installed such as- CyanogenMod ROM, ParanoidAndroid ROM, AOKP ROM, SLIM ROM, PACman ROM, Avatar ROM, Omni ROM, LiquidSmooth ROM, Beanstalk ROM, Carbon ROM etc, then it’ll be replaced by stock firmware.

6) Custom Recovery (CWM or TWRP Recovery) will be replaced by Stock Recovery

7) After flashing official firmware, your device will no longer belongs to rooted device. However you can root your device any time after flashing the firmware.

Steps to update G9600ZHU4CSD6 9 Pie firmware on Galaxy S9 G9600 through Odin: 

1) Download ZHU4CSD6 9 Pie firmware for Samsung SM-G9600 from the above download section

2) Download Odin

3) Switch off and boot Samsung G9600 into Download Mode by pressing and holding the Volume Down+Home+Power buttons (long press until the boot screen appear), now press Volume Up key to proceed to Download Mode.  

4) Extract the downloaded Odin zip file and run the Odin application file as an administrator (Right click on the .exe file and click on Run as administrator)

5) Now connect your Samsung G9600 to your computer via USB cable

6) In Odin screen, you should see a COM Port number like “0:[COM7]” at ID:COM section and “Added!” text at the message box. This means your device has been detected by Odin3.

7) Make sure that, only the “Auto Reboot” and “F. Reset Time” options are checked in Odin.

8) Now, extract the downloaded firmware zip file, you’ll find a firmware file with extension .tar.md5

9) In Odin screen, click on AP (PDA in older Odin) button and select the firmware file with .tar.md5 extension (The firmware file look something like: G9600XXDLJ5_G9600ODDDLI7_INU.tar.md5)

10) Now, click on the Start button to begin the installation process, wait few moments.

11) Once completed, you would see “PASS!” message in ID:COM port having green background

12) Your device should automatically reboot after completion

13) You can now disconnect your device from computer

14) Finish

Hope you successfully completed the update process. If you followed everything as mentioned in the above tutorial, then your device should now running on Android 9 Pie build version number ZHU4CSD6. You can verify the firmware update details from Settings-About Phone.

Stuck at boot animation screen? Fix Bootloop on Galaxy S9 SM-G9600

If anything goes wrong, your device may stuck at booting animation. If your Samsung SM-G9600 stuck at boot animation screen for more than 10 minutes, then follow these instructions:
  • Go to Recovery Mode by pressing and holding the Volume Up+Home+Power buttons together.
  • Now, perform Wipe Data/Factory Reset and Wipe Cache Partition task before selecting the reboot system now option. In Recovery Mode use the Volume keys to navigate between options and Power key to select any option.
